People use to start their hobby blogs with their first work. Not me. I decided to post my latest work. The one that has made me really proud. Yes. I take great pride in this one.Ever since I learned how to knit I wished that I could make a really nice cardigan and I finally gather the courage to make one for my niece's birthday. I found this really cute yarn (splash rayon) in Poyeng Hobby Shop, Yogyakarta and I immediately fell in love. I knew that the yarn would be perfect for Chiara's jacket, and it was. However, i thought that it would look pale if I made all parts with the splash rayon, so I made the sleeves bright pink colored instead. and it turned out really nice and sweet. What a satisfying work.
The cardigan uses "Rosie" pattern from the book "Easy Knits for Boys and Girls". In the original pattern, the cardigan is embroidered with roses pattern, but the pattern from the yarns are already cute enough so I decided not to embroider this one. Don't be fooled. the cardigan was really easy to make and I finished it in just about 10 days. Anyway, I found the pattern at a book sale in Periplus years ago, back when I didn't know how to knit. I bought the two knitting books anyway due to their ridiculously low price and I'm glad that the book doesn't serve only as a decoration.
