Traditional "Gambang" Bread for Dodie


Recently, I got very into baking. Actually, I'm not really sure that baking is a craft, but I think, what the hell; I'm just going to post this one on the blog. After all, baked stuffs is also a product of the work of the hands.

A friend of mine wrote in his facebook status that he wanted an indonesian traditional bread known as "Roti Gambang." Roti Gambang is basically a cinnamon bread that's mixed with a liquified palm sugar. So it has this unique color and aroma.

I haven't found this kind of bread for a while, and I was intrigued. I then decided to google for the recipe. I found a handful of recipe on the net, but this one won my interest. Needless to say, I immediately made my first batch and decided to bring it to a dinner party and--surprisingly--it was a hit. I highly recommend you to try the recipe. It will be so good for afternoon teas.
